Christmas holidays and application processing time

Hello all, I was just wondering, from your experiences from the last two or three past years, from what date should we not expect (or very unlikely to expect) any letters, for example for biometrics, interviews or any other communication from HO during the month of December/festive season. In other words if one wish to take a holiday (in the uk of course) and don't want to miss such important communication, when it's most probably safe to do so?

Has any one here got any correspondence from HO after the 24th of December, or in the furst week of January for example?
