Hi,
I am EU, my husband is non-EU. Last month he got his COA + right to work. He started working the 31st of October. We were told that it would not be a problem for him to get paid into my account. Now it is a problem, the day he was supposed to get paid they said they can't for legal reasons. We really need this money, for the past months we have been living on one salary which is not very comfortable. Home office still has his passport so we can't even open a bank account for him. HSBC even said they would also need the actual plastic residence card, the passport wouldn't be enough. The company says they don't do checks anymore. On his payslip it says check for the moment. We both work for the same company. What can we do? Can we ask the HO for our documents back? Will other banks open an account just with the COA and a passport?
