Tier 2 General Extension supporting documents requirement

Post by hossain31 » Sat Dec 03, 2016 7:31 pm

Hi
First time using a forum, heard about you from a friend.
I am in a bit of a grey area and would like to pick up your brain on this following issue:
I am currently holding a Tier 2 General visa and my visa is due to expire in January 2017. My company has issued a Tier 2 General extension CoS for me and gave me the CoS number.
I have now submitted my online application with the home office and also paid my IHS fee. Now they are asking me to send my passport, BRP card and two photos with my name written at the back as my mandatory documents.
Now my question is - Are these the only documents that I need to send? or do I need to send any other supporting documents such as a copy of the application form submitted, the CoS or a copy of the IHS payment confirmation?
Do I also need to send my bank statements? My employer has confirmed for my maintenance, I just want to be on the safe side. Or do they require my employers bank statements?
Regarding the English Language Test, do I need to submit my certificates? They were given a copy when I initially applied in this category three years ago.
I will be very grateful if you could please advise me on the above issue.
Many thanks in advance.

A print of your application form and IHS payment confirmation should be fine. For extension applications, your passport, BRP and photos are fine. No other document required.

Hi there,
Thank you very much for your kind response.
Can you just spread the light on if I should send a copy of the CoS as well? My employer has issued the CoS and has given me the CoS number, but I do not have the actual CoS with me. Do I need to obtain a copy and send it with my application?
Regards

There's no need to submit an actual physical copy of the CoS.
All you need is a COS number and consistent information for your application - sponsor licence number, address, correct dates, job title, salary etc.

Hi there,
Thank you very much for the information, I was a bit confused.
I am going to send out my paperworks today.
I must admit the process seemed very straight forward, unless/otherwise I made any silly error(s).
Many thanks for your information, much appreciated.
Regards
MH.

It is indeed straight forward.

There is no need to certify maintenance or proof of English language when applying for Tier 2 extension.
Same for dependents.

The key thing to keep an eye on when extending is the minimum salary requirements for experienced workers.

Hello,

Can someone please help with the list of supporting documents for dependents while applying for Tier 2 General extension.
Also do we need to send a prepaid envelop when sending the application/documents to UKVI for them to return the original documents? I am applying on normal postal service

Thanks,

Hello!

Similar question to the above:

I'm applying for a Tier 2 General extension and was wondering about the Mandatory Documents that need to be submitted (ie: Passport, BRP, police registration cert).
Do I need to mail in the originals of these or a copy?
How soon after will then send back the originals?

Thanks!

docs as per the check list.
you get the originals back when the decision is made and visa is granted/rejected.
Takes up to 8 weeks.
