Wife's name

Post by tier1_again » Wed Dec 21, 2016 11:44 pm

Hi,

I am submitting our citizenship application shortly and need a bit of urgent advice.

All my wife's official documents ( passports/bank accounts in UK/ employment details etc.) are all on her maiden name and all her previous applications have mentioned that she has not been known by any other name.

We have just remembered that there is a bank account in our home country that has her married surname.
As we do not operate this account much we had not remembered this while putting her previous applications which were all granted.

However, she had run a scotland disclosure back in 2006 when there was a query on this ( we had forgotten to mention it at the point of applying for the scotland disclosure as well as this was so insignificant).

I am thinking of putting this in as a comment in page 22 of the AN application ( which asks for any additional inforrmation - however, I am hoping that they will not come back and say we deliberately suppressed it in our earlier applications). There has not been any mailicious intent at all and that account is hardly operated with a very low deposit.

Can someone advice the best way to go about this?

Regards

Be honest.
Explain everything.
Close account.
Use one identity.

Thanks Noajthan.
We would have preferred her to use the married name but as nonone of her official documents are pon her married name that is why we decided to stick to her maiden name.
It was only this bank account where the authorities were ready to accept marriage certificate to change the name that they had put the married name in.
As I said the account gets operated once in a blue moon and hence difficult to close it just now.
