Expired passport & filling AN for BRP section

Post by tier1_again » Thu Dec 29, 2016 1:03 am

Hi,

1. If the passport which was used for applying ILR has now been cancelled and a new passport issued ( old one was due to expire hence was renewed) - do we need to furnish the old passport as a supporting document as well?
2. I guess that this does not have to be mentioned anywhere in the AN form - can someone please confirm?

3. Even if I were not applying for naturalisation but continued on ILR I believe there is no requirement to provide the new passport number to HO. Can someone confirm?

4. If applying through Joint citizenship and passport application service I believe they will not be taking the original BRP but will send a certified copy to HO. In that case I am planning to answer the following as below.
Can someone please confirm this is the correct approach -
- 6.7 BRP enclosed ? - No
- If not enclosed then please state the location of the biometric residence permit - Original is with the applicant. A certified copy by the NCS is being enclosed with the application
- Tick the Other - then go to 6.12
- 6.12 - If required BRP is not enclosed please give details why you are unable to provide it - "This is being retained by the applicant as it may be needed for work purposes and emergency travel during the application processing. A certified copy by the NCS is being provided with the application"

Just take your current passport no need to explain or bring old passports, unless used to prove residency requirements. Not familiar with ILR requirements so can't answer that part.
6.7 answer YES - as will submit by way of cert. copy no need to explain, that happens all the time. Therefore 6.12 not. required
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Q6.7 answer is Yes - NCS copy counts as 'yes'.

Note All uncancelled passports required for passport application.

Dear all

I had applied for visa last year and we are on appeal now.
My uk born baby's passport will be expired in 2017 June.
We are waiting for UTT hearing and even if we can make an application it will be after June 2017 only.
So is there any option for renewing passport which is held in the home office please.
Our visa expired last year.
Many thanks.

Please don't highjack another members thread. It's unfair to the OP and causes confusion. Open your own topic and post your question there.
