Which year were you born?
Where were you born?
What were your parents nationalities at the the time of birth?
What was your parents marital status at the time of birth?
I was born in 1959 in the USA. Mother is British father is American.
Parents were married at time of my birth. I qualify completely for the UKM.
here is my question:
during the WWII my mother's name changed because my grandfather changed his name during his army service. Although he was British and so was his father, grandfather and great grandfather, their family came from Germany and had a German name. Wasn't good serving in the British army with a german name. I checked the deed poll, publications, etc. for the past months and nothing comes up from @1940. The only document I have is my grandfathers British military identification card which has both his new last name and his old one. My mother's birth certificate has her older germanic name. As a result her marriage certificate from 1946 only has her newer maiden name. The home office said I need to show the trail/connection. I am lost as how to do this without the deed poll/ or documentation. Mother is 95 and does not know her her passport is.
This is the more difficult of the questions I have. THANK YOU!!!,
