Re: ILR - Employer Letter - Tier 2 General

Hi,

I have now got one year job and gonna apply for new Tier 2 priority visa (for 1 year as I can not get more than 6 years in Tier 2) tomorrow. My first Tier 2 visa was on 10 May 2013 and my current tier 2 visa is expiring on 14 May 2018. As I have already eligible to apply for ILR, I could not apply because of my current employer not able to give me a foreseeable future letter as my job is ending on 30 April. Luckily I have now got a job so I am getting another Tier 2 visa and probably starting my job on 7 May and get an ILR on 10 May before expiry of my dependents visa (their visa is expiring on 14 May). I have got absence letter, LITU pass certificate, PhD certificate, pay slips and bank statements ready for my ILR. I also booked my ILR premium appointment on 10 May.

Here I have few queries,
1. After getting approved my ILR suppose on 10 May, I guess I can switch my dependents to Tier 2 PBS dependent visa based on my ILR status (3 year extension). However, I wont get my BRP card before 14 May. So what should I mention as the home office reference number-shall I use my new Tier 2 BRP number rather than ILR BRP number?
2. For IHS, they are asking about visa expiry date-which date to be added?
3. Is that ok to apply without my ILR BRP number and documents?
4. Do I need to get absence letter from my new employer (ILR applointment date will be within three days after joining with my new employer)?
5. I have one year contract with my new employer, however my employer said they can issue foreseeable future letter to support my ILR-will that be an issue with Home office?

Thanks in advance. Your help is highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Rj

Tier 2 priority applied and ILR appointment in 3 weeks

Post by RJLK » Thu Apr 19, 2018 6:01 pm

Hi,

I have now got one year job and applied for new Tier 2 priority visa (for 1 year as I can not get more than 6 years in Tier 2) on Tuesday.

Here I have few queries,
1. I have bookd my ILR on March so I paid last year fee. Do I need to pay extra cash or need to rebook another appointment with new fee?
2. After getting approved my ILR (suppose on 10 May), I guess I can switch my dependents to Tier 2 PBS dependent visa based on my ILR status (3 year extension). However, I wont get my BRP card before 14 May. So what should I mention as the home office reference number-shall I use my new Tier 2 BRP number rather than ILR BRP number?
3. For my dependent IHS, they are asking the visa expiry date-which date to be added as this dependent visa is based on my ILR?
3. Is that ok to apply my dependent visa without my ILR BRP number?

Cheers,
Rj

Hi,

I have now got my ILR status with my new employer's letter. They did not mention foreseeable future instead they just said the fixed-term contract until May 2019. They also mentioned this position requires PhD, because my salary is well below £35,500 threshold. Thanks to this forum and its members.

Cheers,

Rj so you managed to get ILR wihh only latest employers absence letter? I understand as per law you need letters from all employers... Can anyone correct me if I am wrong?

Pretty sure they used discretion in your case as your job was in PhD status. Do you mind sharing your SOC code?
