Applying for Tier 2 while banned for 10 years

I applied for a visitor visa 6 months ago, and because I used deception on the application (not admitting a prior long overstay) I got refused and banned for 10 years.

Now I have a company that will sponsor me for a T2 visa. Will the 10 years ban be a problem, or is the ban limited to visitor's visa applications only?
