How can we contact them to see what is happening and chase the return of the passport?

You cannot really chase for 6 months.
Acknowledgements not always sent out.
If payment had failed you would have heard.

Use request docs website to request docs. Google.

Thanks, SRE

We will give that a try. Obviously, we just don't want to do anything which might jeopardise the application in any way

Hi Lena81,
Thank you for sharing your timeline. Would you mind confirming if you applied using the paper or online form? Also, are you an A2 or A8 national? Thank you

Hi SRE - thanks for your updates. As I posted earlier, I applied in November and never received a confirmation e-mail. Can you tell me what the EEA confirmation e-mail actually says?

Also, is this the right address to ask for one and what did you give them to request an e-mail? - ukbacustomercomplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Out of interest how did you find this address, because after 10 calls to the EEA helpline they weren't able to provide me with this...

Thanks!

Hi naxxan,

in my husband confirmation email there is only Case id number and said thank you for your application and is being considered. Basically i just mention my name, when i send the app and doc, and said that i would like to have email confirmation / information if my application and documents has been received by them since i haven't receive any confirmation email about my application.

when i was apply for my EEA2 (RC) i use to sent email to HO to this address nwcsu@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk but this is not valid anymore, and i sent to another email address that thanks God I always saved in my email database, but their automatic response answer sorry can't answer your question and give me this address email ukbacustomercomplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

If you want to ask COA try this nweurocoarequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk maybe it going to send the email to the right place if not try the complaint email.

Hope this help....

Seems like I'm waiting much longer than the rest on here... but here goes:
Non-EEA / Retained Rights of Residence

Application and doc sent :29-06-2016
Application and doc received by HO: 30-06-2016
Payment taken : week later
Biometric letter (non EEA) : 17-08-2016
Biometric done : 19-08-2016
COA : 22/08/2016
Passports requested back: N/A
PR Approved / Rejected : ...waiting

Under Article 10 of Directive 2004/38 EC and Regulation 17 of the EEA Regulations (2006), the SSHD must issue the permanent residence card no later than six months after the application and the documents are received. My application has been submitted more than six months ago and a letter has been sent recorded to Home Office to remind them of this.

Hi all,

Good news - I received my PR card including all documents via the post today! :)

Application Sent: 22 Nov 2016
Application Received: 23 Nov 2016
Payment taken: 24 Nov 2016
Confirmation email by HO: Never received
ID card requested back: 23 Jan 2017
PR + Documents received: 4 Feb 2017
PR Dated: 5 Sep 2016 (as requested in my cover letter - confirmed by attached letter on documents returned)
PR card dat of issue: 30 Jan 2017

I am a bit disappointed that the EEA PR card is made out of paper, I was expecting a plastic bank type card. Is it like this for everyone?

With regards to the timeline, from what I have seen here on the forum and my personal experience, it seems that applications get fast-tracked once you request your ID/Passport back. Can't guarantee this though.

Thanks all for your help and I will be back when applying for citizenship in a few months :)

Update : Refusal received.

For those interested in Kuldip Singh, it seems caseworker guidance still does not reflect the ECJ Kuldip Sing Ruling. Therefore a rejection because EEA national left the UK before divorce proceedings were FINAL (absolute) but AFTER divorce proceedings began. Which means it's still a convenient way for a disgruntled ex to sabotage and blackmail their former partner - just by making sure they were out of the country or not working on the DAY the Decree Absolute is declared, resulting that the Non EEA spouse loses his/her retained rights of residence.
