Naturalization of children under 18 boarn abroad to EU citis

Hi there,

my partner is looking at getting his British passport sometime soon. He has an 8 year old boy and is divorced.

We are a bit confused about the process of naturalisation for the two them. We can can apply for a passport for my partner since he has lived here for over 6 years and has permanent resident card and is EU national, however, how do we apply for his son's passport? Does his mother need to have British passport or indefinite leave to remain as well as my partner even though they are divorced? Or can my partner apply for the two of them together without the mother getting involved?

Also, does my partner and his boy apply for their passports separately or cab they do it through some kind of family information, since we are not able to find this information online.
