Cover Letter Reqd for Naturalisation Application ?

Post by atrang » Fri Jan 13, 2017 1:23 pm

Hi Masters,

I have a basic query about the naturalisation application. I hope you will help me resolve the same.

I am applying through NCS and under the JCAP scheme. I am a self-employed person with more than 1 yr post ILR.
Does my application need to be accompanied with a Cover Letter like it was done for Visa extension and ILR? Also, I have entered the details of my employment history as well as absences from UK and the HMRC documentation for employment and tax history will be included. Do I need to add any separate letter explaining my absences or the employment history?

With the application, I am including my Passport, ILR-BRP, Life in UK passing certificate, HMRC statement of account. Do I need to include anything additional?

I always get nervous when it comes to such applications and so I might have missed something, but if you people can advise then I can crosscheck and it will be really helpful.

If at all a cover letter is required, is there a template available for the same?

Thanks in advance masters.

(I briefly searched through the forum for cover letter but did not find any strong results. Apologies if its a repost or a duplicate.)

Cover letter is not required. The form and supporting documents is sufficient.

Thanks Char bhai for prompt response.

Do you think the documents that I have mentioned are sufficient or I need anything else?

A cover letter is not mandatory and not required unless you have some unusual or peculiar circumstance to explain.

Also include proof of English and payment form/s.
As I recall passport photo is required too.

A cover letter is only to help clarify points and/or details which could not be covered in the application itself. if the application is self-explanatory, there is no requirement for a cover letter.

As an aside, not everybody on these forums is from the Sub-continent or conversant with the lingo. You may wish to stick to more conventionally understood expressions.

In any case, it would be Char ben and not Char bhai.

Char Bhai = Brother Char; Char ben = Sister Char.

The member made the assumption that you are a 'brother' Char. A common occurrence on the forum I believe.
