Thank You CR001CR001 wrote:You can 'hold their place' if you leave the UK for such a long time. You will have to restart the school entry place when you return. In 6 months time it is the end of the school year anyway. Year 8 and Year 9 are quite important years too.
Assume your kids have either ILR or citizenship??
You will also have to stop claiming any benefits (child benefit, tax credits) if you are leaving for so long.
Thank you for your advice,Casa wrote:I'm sorry for your loss.
You're correct that this isn't really an immigration issue. However, it's not simply the issue of retaining your children's place in the school on their return.
In order to avoid a financial penalty (a fine), you will have to complete the exceptional circumstances form requesting leave of absence during term time together with any supporting evidence of why they must travel with you.
Speak to the Head of your children's school.
