No, there is NO requirement that BOTH parents MUST apply for citizenship with the children. One must be applying and the other must hold ILR.

Does anyone know if it's possible to renew the BRP card from overseas? I cant risk mailing in the application for my son and him being without his passport for six months.

Vinny, isn't this for people applying for the first time? We already have ILR, just need to renew an about to be expired BRP card.
