Hello,
I searched for a solution to this on the site but was unable to find it, hence putting up a new topic. Apologies if this is already addressed in some other thread - would be extremely helpful if you can point me there.
If not, here goes,
I came to the UK on a Tier 2 ICT (Short Term) Visa from India. My CoS is till September 2017. I have been here from October 2016. I have been to the UK before multiple times but always on a business visa. Recently on the 1st week of January, my sponsor's license has been revoked. The following course of action for them is something they are debating but in the meantime, they have told us that we will be individually receiving a letter from the UKBA to understand the status of our visas. Most possible course is that we will be given 60 days to leave the country. Also, we have been advised that if we are out of the UK when this letter comes, we may not be able to re-enter the UK.
Fortunately, my wife is also working here on a Tier 2 ICT Visa. The problem is I have to go on a business trip in the 3rd week of February. Chances are I may not be able to re-enter the UK if I am still on my current visa. So the best course of action which I figured was to switch from my current visa to a dependent of my wife. From the website, it seems I can get this done while I am in the UK - the documents I require are a marriage certificate and my wife's bank statement. However, both mine and my wife's sponsors are saying that it would not be possible for me to apply for the dependent visa while staying in the UK. I want to know which point is valid. Also, if I indeed can apply while in the UK, are the documents I mentioned correct.
Thanking in advance for any help
