the online applications usually have a part where you can download the biometric letter once you submit and complete the process.ryongsong wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 4:09 pmI applied on behalf of my daughter for a renewal about two months ago. I applied online and then sent off the documents as requested - it was sent recorded and it was delivered.
I haven't received any acknowledgement letter. The final message I got in the online application said I would receive a letter telling me where to go for photographs etc, but I've had nothing yet. is this normal?
The final screen I come to is just to download the document checklist and download the application form. I did both of those things and sent them off. There's only a sign out button.
my husband did the application right after Easter 2019. no attachments when he received the acknowledgement email that HO had received our post. I guess we just need to wait for the biometric letter by post which basically sums up the 6 mths waiting time.ryongsong wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 4:30 pmThe final screen I come to is just to download the document checklist and download the application form. The email I got confirming payment said 'You must provide your fingerprints and a photo of your face. You will receive a letter explaining how and where to do this.' I assumed I'd get a letter - there's nothing I can see online.
When did you provide biometrics, and how did they contact you about it?Ladyfelsham wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 2:34 pmHi everyone - thought I'd let you know my ROA has just arrived at home and it took five months and four days this time. Previous time, five years ago, it took six weeks. Criminal, really.
Application went in 28 November 2018, arrived today 2 May 2019.
Anyway, good luck to you all who are still waiting, I know it can be an anxious time!
I'm in the same boat, with the exception that I provided photos even though it said you didn't need to (I did that because some notes still referred to them). I was told in an automated email I would get a letter telling us where to go to submit biometrics, but I haven't yet received a letter (3.5 months later). Seems no way to get through by phone, so I wrote a letter three weeks ago, but no response, as I expected.
Hello, did you called them to cross check?ryongsong wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 4:42 pmWhen did you provide biometrics, and how did they contact you about it?Ladyfelsham wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 2:34 pmHi everyone - thought I'd let you know my ROA has just arrived at home and it took five months and four days this time. after reading your comment we've decided to write a letter too in June to ask about biometric and received a letter last week requesting for 2 passport photos of husband. the letter is odd as there was no dept number or any officer name just Home Office. posted 2 photos to them asap. keeping fingers crossed that we will get the passport back before we travel back home end of aug!ryongsong wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 1:49 pmI got a letter today (almost 4 months since application) saying I must supply 2 passport photos or app will be refused. Odd since I did actually supply two, even though the system said I didn't need to but would have to submit biometrics. Anyway, at least some communication, and finally an acknowledgement of the application.
Hi, How many days after sending photos you got your daughters passport?ryongsong wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 3:30 pmI got my daughter's RoA cert back this week, about 4.5 months from application. As I said earlier, they contacted us for passport photos - even though we were told during the application process they weren't needed any more and we'd be receiving a letter telling us where to go for photos/biometrics.
Have you received your child’s ROA? I received photo request a week later than you but have not received any response since then. It’s such a long process:-(Skatta wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 10:52 pmHi, How many days after sending photos you got your daughters passport?ryongsong wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 3:30 pmI got my daughter's RoA cert back this week, about 4.5 months from application. We applied ROA for my Son 2 months ago, received a letter last Saturday 13 Jul to send photos (even though we sent with original application). We have our travel booked for 27 Jul, just wanted to make alternate travels plans if it takes longer.
You may contact them and request the return of supporting documents for your application. This normally won't take them more than 2 weeks to dispatch and may even help by forcing the relevant department to progress with case creation stage...SunnyBee wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 12:55 pmHi all
I have fallen fowel of the RoA and right to work confusion... I was told I can travel in and out of the UK on my nz passport as long as I had an old passport with my RoA certificate in it. This meant I assumed that it would work the same as proof for Right to Work... No it doesn't...
I left a good job to go to a new one and after two days of working I was asked to stop working as my passport didn't have the RoA certificate in it as it was in an expired passport....
I am now unable to work even though I have spoken to an immigration lawyer who confirmed i still have the right to work in the UK.. I just lost the proof to prove it until my passport gets back from the home Office..... I am currently struggling with dwp to get my rent paid etc as they too are questioning my status
Anyway... does anyone have any up to date information on how long the renewal process is taking? I know it says 6 months but I'm hoping it will be a lot sooner as I need to get back to work asap....
