EEA PR for a child Please Help

Hello Lovely people,

Im quite desperate and i was wondering if you guys could help, solicitors dont seem to have much information about this things.
I'm an EEA PR card holder through my husband as i'm not an EEA citizen. My 13 year old sons Visa is expiring in 3 weeks time, he has been here for 5 years and had a residence card as a dependant of an eea family member.
Me and my husband we are separated at the moment, we haven't applied for a divirce yet as it's complicated.
My question is can i apply for my sons EEA PR card without my husband? As in me being a sponsor?
Please any information will be very useful, if yes how complicated is it?
