Hello all,
I booked my appointment with my local council Nationality Checking Service for both passport and citizenship application. I have filled my AN Naturalisation form already and feel quite relaxed about it. But I haven't done much work in terms of applying for a British passport. I was advised to pick up the 'Applying for a Passport' form at the Post Office and gather all documents before my meeting. I did exactly that, but I am a bit confused about the following:
1- The form asks me to send my passport. I have an Italian passport, but I don't want to send the original as it is the only document I have. Will the NCS provide a copy of my passport, and it won't ask me to send the original?
2- Once the Home Office receives the copy, they won't cancel my Italian passport, will they? I have booked flights with it later in the year, and I need to be able to use my Italian passport again. Will I still be able to use my Italian passport?
3- Section 5 in the Passport application asks ' Have you been granted a certificate of registration or naturalisation'? Well, no, I am applying for it, so I haven't been granted one yet, but I hope I will. What should I put here?
Thanks a lot for your help.
