Hello All Members,

firstly thank you for your continuous support.

please can you help me in guiding the process for applying a settlement visa for my mother.my mother comes to UK every year for 3 to 4 months stay. but now as my father passed away last year I am planning to apply for her settlement.
my mother is 70 year old.
few months back I have naturalized as a British citizen.

This route to settlement for adult dependant relatives has been virtually closed since the Immigration Rules were tightened considerably in July 2012.

In order to stand any chance at all your mother would have to prove that she needs daily help for tasks such as bathing, dressing, preparing food etc and that care is either not available in her home country or is unaffordable. Bear in mind that if you apply for your mother to join you in the UK and the application is refused, you will be closing the door for all visitor visa in the future due to the prior intention to settle,

This article by Freemovement explains the situation clearly.
