EEA (PR) - list of absences no longer needed?

Post by mmumpitz » Tue Feb 28, 2017 9:26 pm

Hi, I'm applying for Permanent Residency as a German having lived/worked in the UK for 9 years. I have a continuous 5 year period in which I was resident in the UK at only one address, working for only one employer (2010-2014).

Instead of the paper form EEA(PR), I used the online form (https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/eea-pr). At the end of the process it states the required documents:
- photos, application printout, passport
- P60 tax docs from employer for qualifying period
- Proof that I have "continued to live in the UK from the end of their qualifying period, such as P60s or utility bills, employer letters, bank statements, council tax (or equivalent) bills, NHS (or equivalent) letters, mortgage or tenancy agreements"

Specifically it does not ask for proof of residency _during_ the qualifying period and does not ask for a list or proof of any absences! (the form simply asked if I was gone for more than 6 months in any year)

I must have left the country for work about 150 times during my qualifying period without many records. Do I really get away with only providing my P60s from 2010 to today? I know the list of absences was necessary but the form very clearly says otherwise!

Many thanks!

Many, many people have.

All I can say there is a reason why there is a new online form, and a new list of documents required. Probably related to the point above.

There you go.
