Hi all,

I need your input please.

My current visa expires in September this year, it is based on the Private Life Long Residence path, as I came here as child (Age 9, I am now 32). I made an application for ILR last year December when it was announced that those with the private life visa could apply for indefinite leave after 5 years instead of 10 as I have already clocked 5 years.

To be honest I think I applied to early, as at the time i applied it had not been expanded to those over 24, I was taken by the excitement of it all and now I am worried because I have not heard back from the home office since then, my current FLR visa is due to expire, and My work have started asking me for my visa renewal update. I am now thinking of renewing my current visa as normal in August using priority and then mention in my application that I currently have another application pending decision, and let the Home Office vary my FLR to an ILR instead, based on the new early ILR concession guideline.

I also thought of cancelling the application (with the possibly of losing the fee I have paid - to be honest losing £2000+ is better than losing my job due to the delay in response).

If I do make another application for FLR as normal, instead of cancelling the current ILR application would the home office refund me for the ILR application I made last year?

Any advice of what I can do about this please?

Hello,

You can write to the Home Office where you applied to find out about your pending application or speak to a solicitor to get an update.
You must apply for an extension within 28 days of the expiry date of your visa, if you do standard time it’s over 10 months wait however your employer can use the employer checking service online, you will have to give your employer your home Office application reference to carry out this check.

Hope this helps

Hi,

My wife had her first Further Leave to Remain interview and document checking in Peterborough in March 2022. How long do you think a decision will be, 11 months? Wasn't expecting this.

Thanks,

Mike

Where did you get this condition? In the decision email, decision letter or on your BRP and what does it actually say?

In my letter grant it says I must to register with a police station registration with in 7 working days from letter date . My Solicitor never seen that befor for FLR FP .I went to police station and have benn told my type of VISA not on their list. Asking me to book online appointments to register but booking form aoes not include this type of visa so booking application can not be submitted because I must to fill mandatory fields which I don't have for this visa!

Did you receive the letter grant via email or in the post? Also on what basis did you get FLR FP? Partner, parent or private life?
