urgent query Cos Issuance

Dear Admin / Users/ Members,

I have a urgent query regarding Cos issuance.

In a case where the Tier 2 General immigrant needs only say 18 months Cos but has been agreed the job which is for say 3 years, would that be possible to issue the Cos for 18 months from the employer side.?

Or still they will be issuing it for 3 years ? is there any relaxation for the employer that they can issue the Cos for the time period (for 18 months) or as per the years in the advertised post.?

Can someone clarify on this please?
