About the compliance visit.
When they came did they interview you?
Do you know if they asked your employer for copies of your payslip and how long back did they request to see?

Also did they update your application status on the website before you received your documents?

They wanted to interview me but, I finished work for that day when they called for me. Hence, I was not interviewed. However, they have asked the payslips for one full year.

The SMS was updated, by the employer before I receive the documents.

Hi, the only reason I think is that they wanted to verify the salary on the P60.

Hello
Just wanted to let you know that, had a visit from Home office today. Lady came from HO in the afternoon and check all the documents, ask question about my employment (past/current), check the other employees documents as well. She wanted to check the documents for any other employee who is not British and company had only one employee who have an Indian passport but he have spent all his life here on ILR. She also check that who else is getting paid the equal salary or higher then me. She spent like 3 hours. I wasn't there as i work in main office and she came to head office.
Applied ILR - 24th May 2017 Sheffield - Premium Service
HO visited today after 6 weeks
Thanx

Now it has become quite apparant that the compliance check is an ongoing thing for all the applicants who applied an ILR from any company.
If all your documents are fine you should not be afraid. Be confident and patient.

This is normal. As you are not present today and she could not interview you she will send an email outlining all the required documents and schedule an appointment with you. All of this is normal. Just be prepared what you do, your job responsibilities according to the SOC code on your COS issued to you. Be confident in the interview. All the best and keep us posted.

Ys did said that she will send an email when she will be coming and what documents she need she when she will come next timw and she also want to interview me so she said that make sure i am there when she come.
Well i am confident, she can ask as many questions she want to about my job role.
Just wanted to let you know that when they increase my salary , they did add more roles and it was under the same SOC, my question is that what if i am doing something which does not comes under my profile..most of the things which i do are under the same SOC but i still to bits n peices which might not cover under my job role, as u know when u working somewhere u do come acorss somework and u do coz everyone ay work help each other even if its not in their job description.

Initially when i join the company i was working as a training mamanager and after that one our commercialisation director left and as i working with him closley so i knew what he was doing so i took over his work like after sales which comes under the same soc and doing lods of work which he suppose to do.

At the time my appraisal was due so he was leaving as well so i put my name forward to take his responsibilities over and doing a lot which he use to do which is all cover under the soc but what if i am few things which is not cover under soc, should i tell at the time of interview? Will that make any difference? Its not a lod but as i said a bits here n there .

What is cover under my Cos, i do lods more then that and it was coz adding more roles to my job under the same soc. So should i talk abt only which was cover under my COS as now they lady know that the reason in increase in my salary and about my appraisal and adding more roles in my job .

Please suggest

I was interviewed during the HO visit couple of months ago. Officer asked what I do day today basis at work, how many employees under me, salary, working hours, date/year start of the employment, employment history in the UK etc. Further, office had asked to show my work ( I showed some reports, email correspondence) and took hard copies of my some reports as evidence. He/She may cross check your answers with some questions ie; If you say you are doing sales as a part of the role, how much business you had generated last year, what are the companies you deal with, how you conduct sales etc.

My advice is to stick with the Job description what is under your COS, not more not less...
I far as I can understand HO doesn't like big changes to COS, as soon as they sense your duties have been changed (different to the COS) they will start digging.

thanx Bumblebee

when the lady came from the HO, she took a copy of variation letter and also the extra roles which has been added to my job and they come under the same SOC. so i hope its ok to talk about all the duties i do which she already have a copy of.

Also as i am training manager, so i do provide the training to new employees on how to use the company software and mobile apps as well and i do travel diff branches to do so, although i have nothing to do with the developing the software or app, i have been trained on it to train other new employees. is that ok to share this as well with officer?

i just want to understand that anything to do with training at work, i do even its a software related training as i mentioned it, app, classroom based training or onsite training.. is that ok tell her everything?

i do many things along and which all comes under the same SOC and the officer already have a copy of it.

well just waiting for her email to see when she is coming and she have requested some paper work as well and will update how did the interview went.

please suggest .
thanx

I am sure it is fine to talk about all the duties under your COS. Try to keep some records of your work to show if she ask (may be attendance sheets, presentations). More you convince the office that you do what you suppose to do is better.

Hi Raj,

As Bumblebee mentioned just stick to the COS job roles and nothing more of it. Do not over tell anything that falls outside the scope of the SOC roles for your Job.

Just try to keep it straight and simple. Bumblebee mentioned in his post quite clearly what happens on the day of the interview. So just be prepared for that.

By the way was can I ask how much was ur salary increase and when was this from. Was this reported on the SMS or not?

hi Londoner

i will stick to it what the COS job roles are, but when they did the appraisal then i had extra role to my job which comes under the same SOC and officer already had copy of it. I was on 7220 Customer service managers and supervisors and my job title was Customer Services Manager - TRAINING DEVELOPMENT TEAM when i first applied with my new employer in aug 2016 and then in dec 2016 one of my commercial director left and he was looking sales and after sales, as i was working with him closely so i knew what he was doing, so when he left i approach my director for after sales as it is comes under the same SOC 7220. so i was getting paid 26k and got a pay rise after appraisal in Jan 2017.

My employer update the SMS the variation letter in end of Feb 2017 and i applied for my ILR on 24 May 2017 and HO visited yesterday and she took all the copy of my roles which was allocated to me after appraisal and what i was doing when i joined.

so should i tell her about everything what i do including the new duties which has been allocated to me in Jan 2017 after appraisal as she already know ?

please suggest that what should i say as she already know what i do and what are my current duties?

thanx

It is better to take a copy of the letter what was given to her by your employer and analyse things.

Just check out the points which you feel are outside the SOC guidelines. As long all the responsibilities are within the SOC guidelines, it is fine. If you feel that she was informed about any role that you do is outside the SOC guidelines, then try to avoid it explaining unless she asks for it in particular. But when you tell these things be proactive in making her understand that these are just an extended tasks that you handle but the code job responsibilities that you perform are the ones that are with-in your SOC 7220.

I can feel that you are confident in what you do but are a bit confused whether to tell her all things that you do.

Just take it easy and it should not be a problem.

Your employer had not updated the SMS in time. They have 10 days to update after any change to the employee conditions. I believe that this has prompted them for this compliance visit.

My ILR is approved by the grace of God and have received all the documents today. I'm thankful to each one of you for keeping positive spirits all my journey and I'm really hoping that your applications will be approved shortly.

This forum is really helpful and once again thanks to everyone!

Here you go with my story!

1) An application was submitted - Premium Appointment on 1st week of April and got a letter from case worker saying that it requires further checks. My heart was almost broken
2) 2nd-week of May - UKVI compliance check - An officer visited, interviewed all of us and carried out set of documents.
3) 1st week of Jun - A positive feedback from UKVI with regards compliance check.
4) ILR approved on 3rd week of June

Once again thanks to everyone!

Cheers
Hi SRK007

I have a few questions.
1. What date in May did they visit your employer. Was the visit announced and did they interview you.
2. When in June did they respond about the outcome of the visit and was it via email.
3. When in June did you get your approval letter and did they update the application status to decided before you got your approval letter.

thanks
