For all those who are still waiting, don't loose your hope! After 2 refusal, we submitted third application and finally after total of 1,5 year of trying we got it. This forum kept us patient and helped us to carry on. We applied from Shanghai.

15.9.2017 third application made
3.10.2017 'non straightforward' email
3.11.2017 escalation by international phone line
3.11.2017 at same time of escalation, I wrote a separate email complaint and sent to: complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
7.11.2017 Received email saying: 'my complaint will not be handled as I contacted the wrong team and please use this link (www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside- ... ide-the-uk) to make any queries relating to application outside of the UK'
10.11.2017 Received email due to escalation saying: 'As we have previously advised (...) application has not been straightforward. We cannot give a time scale for when the decision will be made (etc...)'
30.11.2017 A reply for previously made complaint which firstly was not going to be handled by the complaints team but somehow they did replied and in a very long email they apologized for long delays, and answering my questions that ECO never makes a refusal decisions lightly and only after full consideration of the information submitted at the time of the application
5.12.2017 Email: 'The processed visa application for GWF reference number - GWF........ was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 12/5/2017. If a courier service was purchased from VFS Global, your processed application will be delivered to the chosen address. If not, your documents can be collected during the designated passport collection times. Please note this is an auto generated e-mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.'
6.12.2017 Passport delivered by the courier with FP inside!!

Totally surprised, was expecting another refusal. Booked tickets immediately, me and my wife are going home for Christmas!

Good luck for rest who still waiting, be strong keep fighting!

Hi guys, I received this email some days ago:

Thank you for your enquiry.
The assessment of this application has not been straightforward and as is subject to extended checks. This may mean that we hold the application for longer than normal, but in some cases it is essential that we do so. Our published guidance states that additional checks may be carried out in certain cases and as soon as we have completed our checks we will notify the applicant of the outcome of the application.

135 working days still waiting :(
Applied from Madrid, Spain (26/May/2017)
I applied from srilanka colombu (15/may / 2017 )still iam whaiing )

Don't worry very soon u got ur passport with U.K. Visa

Yes Rheeb, I am 23 years old and I’m very very depressed and stressed, all hair lost it.
I spoke with the line of the Government (paying) and they told me I had to wait 15 days more. Then I mentioned it to my lawyer and he has sent a letter to the Government complaining that it takes too. I'm going to wait until January, if I do not receive any response, I will have to pay to sue them and take it to the Court.

Hello to all members of this forum. I was following this forum for a few month now.. It is so heelpful to feel that from around the globe people understand you. I applied from Moscow, 14 June 2017. Haven't seen anyone from Moscow here for a long time. Is there anyone who applied from Moscow?
I recieved 3 letters from HO. Last one was on 31st of August. (That my aplication us under consideration bla bla..bla) Since then - nothing.
We asked for a few advice from different organisations. We have been told by all of them one the same thing - that is useless even to contact MP untill 6 months (since applied) have not passed. That formally HO can keep considering the aplication 6 months.
So we have been waiting untill now.
I also read on a Russian forum about one lady that applied on 7.11.2017 and got refused within less then a month... I started to have a strong feeling that they sent refuses much faster compared to a positive decisions... Usually refuses come not later then 3 months ( in my own experionce from other forums)
Well, i only wanted to share my thoughts to you all.
Keep hoping - hope is last we have!

I am in Saint Petersburg. Waiting since 26.08.17.

Whenever they tell you (or anyone else) to wait 6 months it's to fob you off. FP should be issued asap, not in 6 months like residence card (which they often take years to issue too).
So don't be discouraged. Best thing for any of us would be to just travel overground. I would have done exactly that if they didn't lie about their timings! Now we're held hostage with no passports. If I lose patience completely (any moment now :) will just get a new passport and go through Calais etc.
I didnt complain or escalate tho, why should they be making money off me by deceit? How much does it cost us all to be stuck because of their arrogance and inefficiency?
Had I been smarter from the beginning the next best thing after NOT giving them the passport, would be to sue for damages if I had costs for accommodations etc.

Hi all!

Does any one know if I can travel by airplain without the FP if my country doesn’t need a visa to travel to th UK. Will they let me on the plain and grant the FP on the border after checking all the documentation?
Can’t travel by ground since I’ll be travelling with my little boy.

I have never seen before they are checking your visa on airplain boarding, been to the UK in the past with and without FP.

Thinking of issuing another passport just for that reason.
If I would known that the FP takes so long to issue, I would have traveled in August without the FP and applying for the RC from Uk.

Waiting for 85 wd, applied on Aug 16th.

Good luck to us all!
