UK Spouse Visa from Pakistan Passport Submission

Dear guys,

My wife is applying for spouse visa to join me in UK , i am british national.
I have one question will the applicant submit her passport at VAC during biometrics or it will be sent by the sponsor along with application and other supporting documents ?

Kindly clarify.
