Queries on FLR(M) ext to avoid another extesnsion before ILR

Hi,

I have couple of questions regarding FLR(M) extension. Please advise.

1. My wife VISA expires on 10th May and now I am applying for FLR(M) extension. Please suggest when would be the ideal time to apply for extension so as to prevent another extension before applying ILR. Currently she is on FLR(M) completing 30months. Kindly suggest.

2. Also will the spouse collect the BRP card on behalf of the applicant if she has travelled outside the country? If so what documents we need to produce. Appreciate a quick response.

When was current spouse visa issued and on what date did she enter the UK?

It was issued on Nov 2014. Prior to that she was on Tier 1 General and moved onto FLR(M).

Why did she switch to FLR (M)?

Did you get ILR based on long residence?

1.She should apply no sooner than withing 28 days of her visa expiring.


2. Is she applying in person or by post? BRP Card are sent by DX courier.

I got ILR and now citizenship as well based on Long Residence. We are applying using premium service (same day appointment).

She has to travel outside the country in the first week of May and hence we have opted for premium service. That's the reason I am checking if I can collect the BRP card on her behalf. If so, what documents we need to produce or should we get an approval from anyone?

I did contact DX Courier and they mentioned that we need to produce 2 sets of id proof of both in originals in case we need to collect spouse BRP Card and also an authorisation letter from spouse stating Mr/Mrs XYZ can collect it on their behalf.

So if they have told what you need, what else are you asking? You need to ask if they will accept a certified copy of her passport.
They deliver to your home address. If you miss it you can arrange redelivery or to collect. Suggest follow their advice.
