UK Settlement Visa Bank Statements?

Post by renji1466 » Tue Apr 18, 2017 6:14 pm

Hello there. My dad is planning to apply for a visa for me by May to come and join him in the UK I'm only 17 by the way. He's hired a solicitor to help him out with his paperwork and he has only recently gotten a job this April after being unemployed since December 2016.

My question is, Can having only one month of bank statements work? He has a job that goes over the financial requirement of £18,600. I know I shouldn't worry about this since the solicitor will advise him on what to do but I tend to overthink. He also told me to have our utility bill for the past 6 months here in Manila scanned and sent to his email so that he can send it to his solicitor for the supporting documents. Can he also use his old bank statements prior to December 2016?

To sum it up, Can having only one month worth of bank statements from his current job that is more than £1550 a month/ £18600 a year be considered because I'm turning 18 by July and I think there's no more time to wait for 6 months to gather bank statements. Any answer would be helpful. Thank you

Very concerning that a legal professional can give such flawed advice on a very clear requirement. Without 6 months of payslips + the corresponding bank statements the application with fail. There's no discretion on this. :!:

Utility bills are just one proof of address, and bears no relevance to meeting the financial regulations. Neither does a bill prove that the accommodation will be considered adequate for you to live there, which is one of the mandatory requirements.

Also assuming you mother isn't living in the UK, as a you are still considered a minor your father will have to prove that he has sole responsibility for your care.
