Tier 2 Visa Extension and Child Benefit Claim

Post by dyrektordynasty » Fri Apr 21, 2017 2:05 am

Hello All,

I am due for my Tier 2 General visa extension but recently found out that I shouldn't be claiming Child benefits as it is regarded as Public Funds which I am not entitled. I quickly called HMRC and informed them to stop the payment as this is a mistake. I earn enough to sustain my family ans do not depend on the Child benefit.

I have called to ask for me to repay back what has been paid so far but I was told it will take 21 weeks to get back to me. My visa application is due in about 6 weeks and I am worried what to do. I know there has been a lot of discussion on this topic in this forum, can anyone please advice me what to do please?

What actions have people in my position done in the past and what were the outcomes please. I understand the need to be honest in the visa application. Any advice or suggestion will be extremely appreciated.

Many thanks.
