Local MP Involvement...how do I do it?

Post by b1234567 » Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:50 pm

Hello,

I've applied for a spouse visa to join my husband in the U.K from Pakistan.

I'm currently sitting on the 46th working day after handing in my biometrics at Mirpur, Pakistan. Although I haven't heard any response, or had any correspondence from the Home Office, I'm planning for the future and thinking about getting my sponsors local MP involved should the case take longer than 60 working days.

What I needed advice on is the actual steps that my husband should take? Of course, everybody's MP may have a different system in place in order to contact them but when attempting to contact them, what do I actually want them to do? How does their involvement come into play? Do they make a few phone calls? Write a letter or an email? What actually happens?

Some input and advice would be greatly appreciated from those who have asked their local MP for support.

Thanks!
