Switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2

Post by nicoleregofreitas » Thu May 11, 2017 5:04 pm

Hello,

I'm from Brazil and am currently studying a Marketing Communications BA course in London. I'm very determined to secure a graduate position in the UK under a Tier 2 visa although I'm also conscious that it might be a difficult thing to achieve given my field of study.

I've opted for the Sandwich option of my course and am undertaking a placement year at a big UK company which will be a great addition to my CV. The company I work for is a registered Tier 2 Sponsor, but as I need to go back to university for one more year before graduating, they can't offer me a place just yet and I'm not sure what the situation will be when I graduate.

I am also considering to study a Masters and specialize in Digital Innovation to increase my chances of getting hired. I know I am exempt from the RLMT due to holding a Tier 4 visa, but I am still extremely discouraged from everything that I've been reading on the subject as it seems to be almost impossible to get a Tier 2 sponsorship.

I would therefore like to ask if you could please share some success stories with me of Tier 4 visa holders that managed to switch into a Tier 2 visa after finishing their studies in the UK. Any advice you might have on how to increase my chances would also be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you :)
