Spouse visa extension - DLA

Post by manilondon10 » Mon May 15, 2017 10:27 pm

Hi Senior Members,

My wife is due to apply for her extension visa in August. It will be the 2nd half of the 5 year route that she will be applying for. I am a British citizen and we have two children both British citizens. I receive DLA in my name for my elder son every month that goes into my wife's bank account (as that's the account number I provided to DWP at the time when applying for DLA couple of years ago). My questions are:

1. Do I need to mention about this DLA in my wife's flr(m) application that I receive this allowance for my son. If yes, will this impact my wife's application in any way? We meet all other requirements i.e. English language A2 level and financial requirements etc. I'm also aware of the NHS surcharge that we need to pay.
2. I will be submitting my last six months bank statements and my payslips with the application (I'm a PAYE employee) and can include my wife's bank statements too for proof of address. Although she doesn't work yet we want to show one or two of her bank statements over last 2.5 yrs to meet the genuine relationship requirement. Since the DLA money shows up in her account, will it be a good idea to include her bank statements with the application? Can HO object why the DLA money is coming into her bank account although the allowance has nothing to do with my wife [DWP know me as recipient and it's for my son who is British citizen].

Please advise. Thanks
