This is a straightforward case, but took over 5 months. The decision was made immediately after I provided further information (just answered a simple question). Based on information posted here and my experience, I think 5-5.5 months would be a typical time frame for Set(O) Tier 2 General (and perhaps for other routes as well) at this moment.

Another monthly update. Good news it's within the 6-month time frame still, but this waiting is still driving me crazy!

Hi everyone,

Documenting this here for my own sanity more than for anyone else! Is slightly discouraging that everyone's application recently seems to be taking almost the full 6 months, but also comforting to know it's not unusual to have to wait!

I was hoping to get to go skiing in April, but it's looking like it may take longer than that, based on other people's recent timelines. Disappointing, but would rather just have it and be done with it, than to have to wait about all over again! Double the ski trips next year it seems!

11 weeks to process. Did not wish to pay for super priority as case was straightforward and no immediate need to travel.
Both Approval letter and BRP card was received on the same day. Method of finance was through savings only. I'll open a separate thread for all documents I submitted and experience. Good luck for those applying. it can be an anxious wait. Next will immediately apply to Naturalise.

After waiting for a week, I did call the contact centre to complain this morning. Within an hour of my call, I received an email that ILR is granted. Not sure if that call helped though.
On second thoughts, I applied while on maternity so it might have required additional verification on SMP which may have contributed to the delay.

Note: Called Home Office today after 24 hours lapsed since biometric submission @ Sopra Steria, complaining that I have not yet received any decision and its been over 24 hours! The agent advised that decision may have been taken within 24 hours, however some case workers prefer to send email confirmation and some case workers prefer to send letter by post, it varies as per case workers. Letter may take upto 5 working days to be delivered!
