Hi,
I'm a Vietnamese resident and I'm currently applying for a 'family of a settled person' to come to the UK to marry my fiance.
Some friends and acquaintances (who already applied for settlement visas to other countries like the US, Germany, etc.) advised me to submit my 'Criminal Record', or 'Judicial Certificate'. Now this doesn't seem to be required by UKVI as we don't see it mentioned in any list of required documents. However, on the gov.uk website, in the 'Eligibility' section, it is stated that:
'Your application might be refused if, for example, you’ve:
- got a criminal record in the UK or in another country
- provided false or incomplete information to the Home Office'
I have actually registered for a criminal record, but it will take up to 15 working days, while I need to submit my online application as soon as possible. Is it worth it to wait for that document, or should I just apply without it and in the latter case, can I supplement it to VFS later?
Thank you very much!
