Confusing email from Sheffield (spouse application)

Post by Bhabish13 » Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:19 pm

Hi,
Our application was rejected previously due to
financial requirements , we went on to appeal.
However rather that waiting, i met financial
requirement over time and was able to make
a fresh application (five weeks now). My husband
made the application through vfs in Nepal. So far we
received an email indicating the receipt of the application
however to our confusion we have received an email today
stating that they haven't received supporting documents
from the sponsor. According to the new system they scanned
all the supporting documents and only took his passport
to send off.

Regarding Visa Application:
For:

We are in receipt of your UK Visa Application however we are yet to receive your UK sponsor supporting documentation. Without these documents we are unable to make a full consideration of your application. Can you please ensure that your UK sponsor submits the documentation to the below address within 10 working days of this email.

For all applications submitted in Pakistan Please send to:
UK Visa and Immigration
PO Box 5852
Sheffield
S11 0FX

If you have paid for the Priority Visa Service please ensure you clearly mark on the envelope that it contains priority visa documents.

In addition to the above, please also ensure that your sponsor provides a suitably sized envelope with appropriate postage so we can return all the supporting documents to your Sponsors UK address, for applications submitted in Pakistan we aim to return your documents within 5 working days of receipt.

If we do not receive your supporting documents within 10 working days we will make a decision based on the information we already have on file. No further request for your supporting documentation will be issued.

With all correspondence please ensure you quote the above GWF reference number.

Please disregard this email if you have already submitted your documents.

Yours sincerely,

UK Visa Section, Sheffield
We are already five weeks in and he has all the supporting documents there. To me it really seems that they have made mistake from their side. However the urgency of the email is rather alarming. I have heard few other people got similar email. Is this due to the new system..(?) To be on the safe side i may have to send originals to Sheffield.
I honestly feel sick going through all this. Hope this is over soon.
Any advice at all from you guys would be great help.
Thank you for your time :)

Hi Bhabish,

I honestly do not think you have a choice and must air on the side of caution. The whole place is seemingly in absolute Chaos and to lose your fee by not complying with the request and instead arguing the toss is probably fruitless.

I would advise you to just get it all sent to Sheffield ASAP and then go to speak to your local MP. Lot's of people on here claim that this has helped.

It's just appauling the way people are being treated at the moment.
I'm not an expert and only answer from my personal experience and understanding of the rules. Spouse Settlement Visa Granted for my wife July 2017. You should not take my advice as absolute.

Yes I understand that I should send the originals
to Sheffield, don't really have a choice.

There is so much to vent...could go on.
Thank you Simon for your response.

This is the new system that has been in place since December 2016.

Basically you apply through your local VFS and they scan all your documents and send it away electronically. And then your sponsor in the UK (or you) have to send all the originals directly to Sheffield along with a return envelope and the documents will be returned to you once they have looked through the originals.

I hope this helps.

I thought this system is different in different countries.
Particularly in Nepal although there a British Embassy
all visa application center is based in Delhi. So everything
is still dealt with in India too.
The VFS center in Nepal has implied that this new system
was supposedly more efficient (clearly not) and that all
supporting documentation can be scanned there.
It makes no sense to send documents from two places. (More confusing)
I was initially surprised because originals were not asked,
I thought that all the documents were verified by VFS.
At this point i think yeah i will have to retrieve those original
documents asap then post them from here or directly from
there (whichever is quickest)
Thank you for your input pixcelrange09, appreciate it.

Hi there ,
Could you updated what happened to your application after this email? What exactly did you do ? Did you inquire Sheffield office why they sent you this email?

Yesterday my wife also got this email which is very confusing as well because we have the proof of track where our documents was received at sheffied home office on 31st july 2017 but not returned back because it was sent off by VFS using their DHL service . We opted for priority service but getting this email yesterday has pressed the panic button 😡 are our documents lost or what !! We called them trying to know why are they sending the email stating Sponsor documentation are yet to be received? 😲
