For Naturalisation application tracking, do you guys use the:
[*]Case ID in the acknowledgment email (or post letter)
[*]Code in the biometric letter
?
I have received acknowledgment for a week, but no biometric enrollment invitation letter yet.
The online checking service says:
"Reference number not recognised" when I use the Case ID, more than one week after the acknowledgment email assigning my application with a Case iD...
Hi there, have you tried with the case no. that starts with a "2"? That should work. What does not work though is the online search form, so if you are a new applicant I expect your search would come up with "Reference number not recognised" as it seems the form is "cached" and has no ability to check the backend database. So, if you are new, you may have a case number but the form is simply not checking the database. Welcome to the club!
This is exactly my experience too, using Case ID starting with a "2". "Reference number not recognised"
I got acknowledgement and money off account, also post letter on 31/10/2017 and 8 days later no update on the website or biometric request letter...
Hi Ariskar,
I would interpret this as they seem to be having 2 issues:
1) The online form is not working, intentionally or not, that is now deemed useless to all of us. The search speed is clear evidence that they used to do a batch upload probably once daily as some suggested and possibly a subset of the database records are uploaded which only contain statuses (used to also contain the field "Last updated on:" which it has by now been removed). It looks like the last upload happened some 10/15 days ago and it has remained "static" since. Evidence: people have received the acceptance letters in the meantime and also invitation to the ceremony and despite all that, the online status still shows their individual applications still at "Awaiting a decision" whereas it should say "Decided".
I am talking from an IT perspective: no search form that interrogates back-end databases returns results at the speed this one does, indicating that it is not a real-time search, but based on an uploaded subset of records. in other words, do not rely on this at all.
2) They appear to be struggling with the mail. It takes a long time for letters to be issued and then you have the additional 2nd class stamping which adds another week or so for it to arrive to you in a brown envelope which looks like junk mail.
If you have applied in the last 2-3 weeks, I would say "hold tight and it will arrive". When I submitted mine at the end of Aug, the NCS lady set the expectations that in about 1 month I would be called up for Biometrics. In fact it took 5 days for the letter to arrive and the following day for me to enroll my Biometrics information. Yesterday it was 2 months since I did that and have not heard a thing and my application still says "Awaiting a decision". Be patient!
Thank you for your input and interpretation my friend.
I totally agree with point
"1". What you mention makes absolute sense from an IT/Static vs Dyanmic Database query perspective and is a smart way to look at the issue. Additional points you mention further demonstrate periodic updating of the Cases database.
2) I looked at several of this forum cases and estimated the biometric enrollment letter arrival date as 1-5 days after arrival of the acknowledgment (post) letter or 2-7 days from the arrival of acknowledgment email (with first Case ID mention) or 2-7 days from debiting the bank card for the application fee (GBP-1282).
It has particular impact in my case due to work related travel.
As part of my work I do regular 1-2 week travel overseas and I hoped to have timed this properly, in order to avoid delays of the application on my end, or risking running out of biometric enrollment time (in case the letter date is much earlier than post delivery date). Application received 25/10 (JCAP-NCS Special Delivery arrival), monies were taken 31/10, email on 1/11 and the acknowledgment letter by post received 02/11, dated 31/10. I aim to travel out of UK the coming Sunday 12/11 for several days and could enroll till Saturday 11/11, 5pm... This is the reason why I am somewhat stressed with timing and status updates so early in the process. For sure, I will have to wait 1.5 - 5 months after submitting biometrics...
Thanks once again baccus99 for the intelligent observations and wishing you the best with your application!
