VIsa Application delay

Hi

I applied for my wifes Visa and 3 dependants in 24/03/ 2017,

visa docs sent to sheffield 03/04/2017

received email on 04/05/2017 saying the application is not straight forward and the decision will not be made in normal time

chased up in may and was emailed back that they were saying they were still considering the case

any one have any ideas what is the cause of the delay and how long this process takes , given all documents were in order

What visas have they applied for? You have posted in a work permit sub forum (Tier 1 General).

This is a marital visa hence not relating to a work visa

We dont know your circumstances so couldnt possibly tell you why there is a delay. The not straightforward email is standard and sent to many visa applicants for a variety of different visa.
