Receiving Tax credits and NHS exemption certificate

Post by FHusain » Sun Jun 11, 2017 5:32 pm

Hi, I am very new to this so not sure if I am posting in the right section.

The thing is I am a British Citizen and my husband is on a spouse visa. He is due to apply for the 2 and a half years extension next year around August. I was earning way above the threshold however I was made redundant end of 2016 and had a baby in Feb 2017. As I am not in work and my husband is only working part-time I applied for Child tax credit on a joint claim but money is going into my account, they automatically put us on working tax credit in my husband's name but money coming into my account. We have also just received NHS tax credit exemption certificate. I was wondering will this affect my husband's spouse visa when we come to apply for the 2 and a half years extension. Another thing is he is hoping to get a second job soon so he will be earning above the 18,600 threshold when it comes to apply for the 2 and a half years extension.

No issue regarding tax credits as long as they are claimed in joint names with your spouse.

Child benefit must be claimed in YOUR name only.
