EEA(PR)Permanent Residency form questions- polish national

Post by burzunm » Mon Jun 19, 2017 12:35 pm

Hi there,

I am applying for a Permanent Residency in the UK as a polish national who has lived in the UK for the last 10 years. I found this forum incredibly helpful in regards to majority of my questions, but there are still a couple of things I need clarified- I would be very grateful if you could assist me. Thank you in advance!

1. I would like to apply for PR in the UK at the same time as my husband (also polish citizen) and I am not sure if we should have one application or 2 separate ones? We have no children and our routes of education and work in the UK have been completely different.

2. In regards to the form itself- should I leave irrelevant parts blank or cross them out and still send the whole document away, or should I only send the sections relevant to me?

3. In section 5 of the application where it asks about absence from the UK... Am I required to put every single trip in there? Or maybe absences over a certain time?
We travel abroad quite a lot- not for long periods of time, but we like to go away for a long weekend or a holiday (never longer than 16 days).
When I started counting we probably have been away 8-10 times per year in the last 5 years... So over 40 times. Most of these breaks were European city breaks and we were away for 2-4 days. Should I include them all? Also, should I include booking emails etc?

4. Last one, I swear! Is it still possible to use the shorter Permanent Residence form? I read about it in similar topics but I don't seem to find it anywhere anymore.

Thank you very much!

Please ignore my question number 2- I just found the answer on the application form itself:

''Only complete sections that are relevant to you.If a section does not apply to you, leave it blank.(...)
To save paper, postage and storage costs, we recommend that you only print and send us the front page of the form, and sections that you have actually completed''.

I would appreciate any help regarding my other questions. Thanks a lot!

Just apply online, it allows for family applications.
As to absence - if you fill in the form online - if I recall correctly it asks just two questions (like if you were absent for more than 450 days in last 5 years and if you were absent for more than 90 days in the last 12 months). If the answer is no and no, it doesn't ask anything else.
However if you choose the paper form, you have to list all your absence within the period in question.

Generally the online form is significantly easier to fill in than the 85 page long EEA(PR) and it gives you the checklist of what documents are needed to be sent with the form.
