Application for ILR with Redundancy Notice

Post by george_gq » Tue Jun 20, 2017 6:04 pm

Hi everyone,

Hope someone here could kindly advise me.

I was granted Tier 2 (General) on 12 September 2012 and hold leave in this category valid until 12 September 2018. I am preparing to submit my application 28 days in advance (which is 15th Aug) of the 5 years threshold which is 12 September 2017.

However our team was made redundant today and all were given a 12 weeks notice which is till 9th Oct 2017.

In this situation, what impact will it have on my ILR application and how can I possibly be dealing with this change?

Many thanks!

Yes it will impact your ability to apply for ILR. You have to submit a mandatory letter from your employer stating you will still be required for the foreseeable future. Obviously not the case if you have been made redundant.
