Applying for Tier 2 General from ICT long term dependant

Post by SWagh » Tue May 23, 2017 2:32 pm

Hi,

I have been in the UK on ICT Longterm -dependant Visa for 3 years now and the validity is going to end in July 2017. I am a permanent employee in a company who has agreed to sponsor me a Tier 2 General visa and the COS was applied and now has been approved. (I am applying only for myself)
My question is around the documents required during my Visa application.
Can any one please list all the documents required during the application ?

Also, please clarify my below doubts:
1. ) I have been self employed for past 3 years and operated a bank business account. Hence, I cant produce the minimum of £945 for past 3 month on my personal bank account in the UK . Therefore, my employer (A rated Employer with valid license) has marked the option on COS which says, that they will be responsible for my maintenance for initial month.
Will this help? Or do I still need to produce my personal account bank statements in the UK? I have enough balance through the past years to produce from my business account bank statements but from what I know its not considered valid.

2.) I have tried to get the UK Naric certificate for my english speaking abilities but it was rejected due to the course being not long enough. Now I intend to apply for IELTS UKVI - B1 level test. I am confused between the UKVI General training and UKVI Academics. Can anyone suggest which one to go for?

Looking forward to your expert advice.
Thank you.

Re: Tier 2 General and owning a limited company

Post by SWagh » Tue May 23, 2017 2:47 pm

Hi,

I am in a slightly different situation. I currently hold a limited company (was self employed on my current tier 2 long term ICT visa) and now going to apply for Tier 2 general where I am a permanent employee of a company and they are sponsoring the visa.
I wished to know if I can be still running my limited company and if I can take contracts under the same company as I was before?

Many thanks!

You're in trouble mate, contracting on a T2 is illegal.

OPs topics merged. Appears to be ICT dependent visa.

CoS letter start date and Visa appointment date - Tier 2 gen

Post by SWagh » Wed Jun 21, 2017 2:24 pm

Hi,

I am applying for a Tier 2 general visa outside of the UK. I have been staying in the UK since last 3 years and just got a sponsor-er and now applying for it.

The company CoS (Sponsorship certificate) holds the start date as 28th June'17 and since the documents required for application got delayed, my Visa application date will fall after the 28th June'17.

Will it cause any trouble for my application?
(I was told that the CoS start date is just a tentative date of you starting to work at the sponsor's office (appointment date for the company) and it doesnt have to do anything with the visa application. Not sure if it is correct information.)
