In my opinion the only person that can possibly push this application at this stage is the MP so keep at phoning emailing their secretary.

That's what I've been doing but no luck. My cousin applied way after me and she got a reply within 3 months and here is me waiting for 8 months now. I don't know what the home office are doing wish they would just make a decision whatever the decision is just make it already so we can take some.action

Reading a lot of the posts on here I don't know whether to feel comforted or disheartened :|

I'm waiting on a decision for a settlement visa for my wife. It's been over 6 months since the application was submitted.

My timeline is:

Online application - 09/02/18
Biometrics - 19/02/18
Documents returned - 04/04/18
Request for additional info - 04/05/18
Email stating not a straightforward case - 08/05/18
Final Stages Email - 26/07/18

I did use a solicitor to submit the application.

I've tried to be patient but the length of time has meant that I've emailed once and called twice to get an update on the application. That's not really yielded a worthwhile response so my plan now is to just wait for a positive reply Insha'Allah.

My prayers and best wishes for all of you in similar situations

Hello, hope your well have you received any decision yet? I am still waiting biometric were done same as you 19-feb-2018

The application requires additional checks with another department and,
whilst these are underway, we cannot give an exact timescale for their
conclusion, this application will not be decided within the customer service

I have always seen not straight forward case mentioned but in my case it says Additional checks required with Another department ? Also timescale remains inconclusive now which means its open with no duration. No point in going for Priority Visa , its been 51 Days since biometric now, totally worried :? :( :( :( :(

Has anyone else here received the same ???

A decision was made on my wifes spouse visa on sunday.

Hzvent been contacted yet and probably wont until next week due to Ashura. Its mirpur btw.
Congratulations praying for good news for you :) how long did it take and where did you apply from if you don't mind me asking
Mirpur in pakistan. Biometrics were done 31st of july. Phone call last monday and decision this past sunday.

From reading other timelines it looks like the sending of the passport can take anywhere between 1-5 days.

And i think printing the vignette takes longer than the printing of a refusal letter. So the longer it takes after a decision i assume it means you're granted the visa.
Wow.. Congratulations on your Visa. It is rather strange how this HO works I am not sure how they review applications. You applied like 3 weeks after me yet I have not yet received an answer for my husbands application.

He went for his biometrics on 10th July, documents were sent on the 10th and received by them on 11th. Documents received back on 24th July and also email saying being considered by ECO. Now on the 50th working day PRIORITY and no decision yet made. :(
I applied biometrics on 20th July 2018 and crossed 30 working days. Enquiry to contact centre was a very different reply which i have never seen in this forum. It doesnt say not straight forward case but "The application requires additional checks with another department and,
whilst these are underway, we cannot give an exact timescale for their
conclusion, this application will not be decided within the customer service
targets but we will complete it as soon as possible. "

Has anyone got this reply ?

Means exactly what it states, your application will take longer. They are probably checking certain aspects of your application. Was your application straightforward, i.e no multiple jobs, no previous refusals etc.?

I am on 47th working Day. I believe you need to cross 60 BD or 12 weeks to get a automated mail from HO stating your case is not straightforward.Couple of points which may have
Triggered additional checks

Documents returned on 6th of September

1) My first passport applied for in 1989 had my dads name included and given with a spelling error ( Thanks to my uncle who applied on my behalf when I was a kid) .No official documents have that name but I still mentioned it to make it transparent.

2) I have an active US B1/B2 Business Visa which I got in 2.5 months after background checks but was never denied a visa only deferred.

3) My 10 years travel history for work and holiday has west,middle-east and east.

Additional checks I clearly see is to do with my background ,you know what I mean :-) I hope this gets completed within 60 working days and I get my visa to see my wife ASAP else the waiting time frame becomes unknown.

Hi, just thought I would help. My husband and applied in Feb - he had his biometrics on 6/2/18. We waited so long and after escalating so many times, and involving my MP, we were told a decision was made on 21 August, we didn't receive the decision until 21 September. The visa was granted! I think you may hear from them soon hopefully. Good luck.

These people don't have hearts that's why they are given this job. I have a disabled daughter and a 1 yrs old son who hasn't met his father. My daughter has a realy bad heart condition. I applied in end of January it's now been 8 months with no reply. And my daughter really misses her dad very much. If they cared I would have had my answer now. My cousin applied in July and got her husbands visa within 12 weeks and she has one daughter she applied way after me and got it way before me. N it really upet me that they gave hers when she applied after me

Hi MizzTracy89

i’ve got this on the 17-aug-2018 in regards to escalation-

We received an enquiry regarding your escalation.

I have escalated your application to the relevant department in order to expedite it; a decision will be made as soon as possible. Your patience is appreciated.

I’m still waiting, praying for the best Inshallha, i hope you get positive news soon
