It really is hard waiting for a decision. I've been waiting since January 2018 with nothing. They made my husband do his biometrics again in October and they sent his passport back because the old one had expired and asked for a new one he gave new passport bak 3 days later. And now I recieved a full refund for ihs. I'm confused. My life is turning upside down and my kids r hurting my ill daughter especially. I wish theybwouldnt do this to us. It hurts so bad and home office people don't seem human to me. They don't realise how many lives they put at stake because of this. If i get refused after waiting nearly a year I'll be devastated. Because I heard when u get full refund they refuse ur case. I wish this isn't the case for me. Please please keep me in ur prayers.

It's so sad and I know nothing I say can be much of help to you but I pray dearly you get a good response soon. Please try to keep your mind off it as that is the only measure we have against this stressful time. My wife for 7 months just felt low all the time and I just couldn't help her. The struggles of our lives overwhelm us but nothing is in our control with regards to HO. In the darkest of times hope is something we give to ourselves that is the meaning of inner strength.

Have you tried pleading your case to your MP stating your daughter's situation? If possible you may want to write to various departments in HO stating your urgency.

Hello everyone, I thought I would share my visa application experience with you,as I have read through these forums while I was waiting for mine. I hope that this post will give people some hope and faith in the visa process.

I am a British citizen my wife is russian we married in Cyprus on 18th January 2018
We got engaged on the 16th sept 2017

Applied for spouse visa 12th sept 2018
Biometrics done in Moscow 13th sept 2018
Documents sent and received by home office 14th sept 2018
(Non priority) due to having a tourist visa rejected
We were advised by a immigration solicitor not to go priority as it would waste £500

Decision made 7th nov 2018
Passport ready 7th nov 2018
Passport collected 8th nov 2018
Visa granted.

This was a none priority visa and only took 8-9 weeks very happy with how the home office proccesed it so quickly.

My advise to anyone applying is send all your whatsapp conversation, video calls everything they want from you, you give them and more.

Never lie or try to hide anything from them as this will lead to a not straightforward email!
Which will then make the process even longer.
And may result in them phoning you and your place of Work to make sure you are not a complete fraud!

We had a tourist visa rejected we made sure we told them of this so as not to hide anything.

I used a very good solicitor which cost a lot of money and so did the visa. But love is worth more than silver or gold!
So good luck people with you’re applications
If you want to ask anything I will reply with an honest answer
Hi Badger, did you send supporting documents yourself in the UK or did the Visa Centre in Moscow send them? Asking as I am not sure whats the best way to do it.

A big thank you to everybody for the immense support. This forum helped me on sleepless nights and gave me that little encouragment to hold it out for that one more week when the decision didnt come through. Don't ever lose hope.

My husband was finally granted his visa after 9 months and 1 week. He collected his passport today and is flying out tomorrow. Please keep your hopes up and keep updating as the little updates give each other motivation.

God bless you all and may you all unite with your spouses.

That great news for u both. For me one whole year of waiting and I'm still waiting. I don't have any hopes anymore. Don't think they will grant a visa as they have also given full refund of ihs.

Hello ,
can any one offer me any advice..... we are on business day 56- spouse settlement visa.
I called Ukvi today to ask for a status updated, to be told that there is no status to be updated and our application has been taken down off the system !? when i asked the adviser what that meant she just said The Eco is the only person authorized to do that and will contact me in due course and tho wait a few more days .....but what does that actually mean ? are they making a decision ? are we rejected ? are they delaying our application, it is driving us crazy...please has anyone else come across this before

many thanks in advance for any advice received

Country applying from: TLS Baku Azerbaijan
Type of visa applied for: Wife Settlement
Applied under Self employed
Priority/Non-Priority: Non-priority
Biometrics: 7 December 2017
Documents received at Sheffield: 13 December 2017
Not straight forward email: March 2018
1st Escalation: July '2018
MP involved: August 2018
Documents returned: 21 October 2018
2nd Escalation: 14 November 2018
Decision made: 24 December 2018
Passport Returned: 4 January 2019 Visa Granted.

We have waited over a year to get our visa. Has been very stressful at times, but reading this forum I knew it was going to take long, especially for someone who is self employed. Got same old response as everybody else that checks are being conducted. They will take as much time as necessary to condcut all the checks. as soon as done with checks they proceed for decision. Countries like Azerbaijan, Pakistan,India and so on are for a long wait most of the time. Gladly for us it turned out to be positive indeed. Wife and daughter flying over next week. My daughter is British citizen and still been waiting for that long. Hope this info helps and is useful for someone who is waiting over 6 month and more.

Hi. So after reading this u have given me a little bit hope. But I got a full refund from home office for ihs and I have been waiting since 25th January 2018. Nearly a year now. And I feel of they reject it I will be very disappointed. I've got a disable daughter and a 1 year son living as a single mum. It's so hard I don't know what to do. We have contacted home office again and again. Mp has also contacted them. I wish I knew why they are taking so long. I feel so helpless and feel like it's never gunna happen and that I won't see a happy day. It should never take a year for them to make a decision.

In early September I emailed UKVI in regards to my wife's application and for some funny reason after few days they sent me email saying that they will refund our IHS in due course. I called them up right away and asked why did we receive such an email? and escalated to sheffield with this enquiry. It happened to be a mistake on their behalf and they quickly stopped process of a refund. bizarre.
Im not really sure what is going on with your case but I would suggest to find out by ringing them and asking why IHS has been refunded if application isn't decided. They are obviously all human and may make a mistake, so its up to you to chase it up and find put why exactly it has happened.

Thank u for that. That gives me a little hope and hoping they have made a mistake in refunding me. I have called them up and they won't give any update to what is happening. I don't know what to do anymore. Can't believe it's nearly been a year. People are worrying after 2 or 3 months of applying some even getting their visa in a couple months and here's me waiting since January 2018. Some people are just lucky I guess.

You must stay calm and be patient since kids are involved and so on. It takes time to do checks. When they request something from a third party and usually i believe it happens in written form then time taken to respond is out of their control I believe. Just be patient and see whats going to happen. at worst you can apply again. You aren't the only one who is struggling. We personally had to wait over a year and as you we had to sit and wait. its out of our control. as long as your documents relationship and financial situation is genuine then there is nothing to fear. hope your waiting is over soon as I believe it will be decided one way or the other. good luck and take care

Hi everyone. So I contacted mp about my husband's application and he this email from them.

" our records show that we recieved the above application on 25th January 2018.
I can confirm that the decision was made on 27th November 2018, and all supporting documents were sent to the visa application centre (VAC). Where Mr **** submitted his application, and he will be contacted when the documents are ready for collection. We apologise for the delay in concluding the application."

So if the decision was made on 27th of November then why have we not heard anything should it take this long for them to send us passport back ???
I'm confused they also refunded me my ihs in December. Doesn't look like a good outcome to me. Please pray for me everyone we will try finding out tomorrow see what happens.
