Change of job while awaiting decision on FLR(M) application

Post by O2017 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 12:04 pm

Hi,

I applied for a spouse settlement visa in the first week of April. I am yet to hear back from the home office. My wife (and sponsor) is currently earning over 20k, but will be starting a PhD in October, and will need to leave her current job by August, in order to travel and begin her studies. As things stand, our application is strong and we meet all the requirements. If (and I hope not) the application is not successful, and we need to appeal, will my wife need to hold on to her job (to fulfill the financial req.) when we file the appeal? Also, how much will an appeal cost us? Lastly, how long does the appeal process take?

Regards

Generally speaking the relevant evidences matters till the date of application. But preferably the UKVI must be updated regarding New job as because they might contact your old employer.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thank you for replying.
My wife will be starting her PhD in October, but the stipend she will be receiving is slightly lower than the threshold stated in the guidance. She can of course supplement this with a part-time job, however this will have been for less than the required 6 months. Will this be an issue during an appeal?
