Can I switch spouse visa to another visa

Post by deesingh » Fri Jul 07, 2017 11:21 am

Hi please help. I am in UK with my 2 dependant children on spouse visa. But my marriage doesn't seem to work. He has been mistreating me and as I had some counselling. I found out that I am kind of a victim of domestic violence.
I want to know is there any other option which I can apply to stay in the UK. I have a permanent job. My daughter is full time
working, son is in year 9.

Please help me find some way out.

Thanks in advance
Dee

If you have evidence of Domestic Violence (physical and/or emotional) you could submit a SET(DV) application for settlement. Read through the information in the links below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 0-2016.pdf

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... form-setdv

You can also seek free advice and support from the charity Southhall Black Sisters for (Asian and Afro-Caribbean) women.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Thanks Casa for the promt reply.
I will go through the links.
Yes I do have proof.
I wanted to know if there is any other option than applying for domestic violence?
Also my daughter is 20, she applied as a dependent when we came here. Do we need to apply separately for her? And if yes, which visa we need to apply?

Thanks
Dee
