Tier 2: CoS and passport change

Post by antonlepekhin » Wed Jul 12, 2017 8:50 am

Hello everyone!

I have the following situation. My employer gave me Certificate of Sponsorship. I provided my passport details to do that. Now I've lost my passport and will make a new one... Does it mean that my CoS is invalid? Is it possible somehow to "update" it (add information that applicant renewed a passport) ? I haven't applied to visa itself so far (will apply with a new passport).

Guys on paid helpline said that my sponsor should annul this CoS and create a new one. But they don't know if sponsor will pay for that again. They know about visas not certificates...

Would appreciate any advise....

the sponsor can add a note to the cos and that should be enough.
A utterly ridiculous suggestion over the phone bu UKVI

Thanks!!! I suspected they just not sure.

Simple logic says that CoS is bound to a person, not a document...

depending on your country of origin, the passport numbers are in a certain sequence too.. so possibly your new passport number will have certain numbers similar to your old one.
Like i said, a note is enough anyway.

Thanks again!

Just in case. May be you know. My employer is not experienced much with this CoS stuff. What exactly should they do to add a Sponsor comment? I suppose: log in to Sponsorship management system and find "Add comment" button?

Giving them an idea would save my nerves))
