Renunciation and now I am stateless

Post by Belieber » Wed Jul 12, 2017 5:21 pm

I renounced my British citizenship in 2015 by providing my expired passport of Malaysia as proof of another citizenship. Malaysia was my original country of citizenship before I became naturalised as British. However I incorrectly believed I was still a citizen of Malaysia when I renounced citizenship of UK, as per their rules once I became a naturalised British citizen I automatically lost the citizenship of Malaysia. So I never had another citizenship in order to renounce my British one. But on the form to renounce I incorrectly stated that I was a citizen of Malaysia. Now I have neither citizenship officially. I don't want to get prosecuted for falsely filling in an RN form either. How do I fix this mess?
