Hello,
My husband and I have been married two year and lived together for those two years in Kuwait, we now have a son who is almost 1 year old and another one on the way in November. I also have a 7 year old from a previous relationship who is autistic and I intend to return home as schooling here in Kuwait for special needs children is very very expensive. My husband is Egyptian and I am British and hold a British passport but I am also an Irish citizen through my mother and I am in the process of applying for my Irish passport. I am planning to return home to give birth and then to make the move to Ireland. We have decided to move to Ireland as it is too complicated to get my husband immigration in the UK, I must earn a certain salary and with 3 children and one having special needs, working two jobs to earn that salary without my husband being with me would be difficult.
Sorry for the lengthy background story, we just want as much help as we can get, my questions are:
1. Is there any easier option for me to bring my Husband to be in UK without having to earn 18,600 a year?
2. If my husband comes to the UK on a visit visa can he apply from the Irish embassy in London for his long stay, single- entry (D) visa into Ireland or must he return to Kuwait?
3. I have heard that you can just arrive at the Irish airport with your passports and marriage certificate and they allow entry and then you must register with the Garda upon entry, is this true? My husband being Egyptian I am certain he may need some type of visa, can he enter on a visit visa and then apply through the Garda to stay with his family as his wife is an Irish citizen?
4. What are the chances of him getting a long stay, single- entry (D) visa into Ireland, is it difficult? we are married with children, so I would hope that would be enough for them to accept.
5. On average how long does a long stay, single- entry (D) visa for Ireland take? we don't want to be separated for too long, as I stated above I will have 3 children, one being newborn and my eldest being autistic, My husband plays a major role is my eldest sons routine and progression, I am worried too much time apart would cause my son to regress.
Thank you for any help or advise on any of the above questions
