spouse visa- reentering UK after 2 yrs

Post by JVM86 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 6:30 pm

Hi all,

I have lived in the UK from 2009 to 2015. I entered the UK on Tier 4 general student visa in sept 2009. I worked in London from 2010-2015 under PSW and Tier 2 visa. In 2012, I married by husband, who was on PBS at the time. I left the UK in august 2015 for employment overseas. I am now applying to return to the UK on spousal visa(British Citizen by naturalisation).
My query is regarding proof of accomodation. I was living with my husband in his current rental property from 2014- 2015. At the time of my departure, we informed the landlord of my move and I returned the BRP (tier 2visa) to the home office. However, we didn't remove my name from the rental agreement/utility bills/council tax. As I am reapplying for Entry clearance, the bills reflect my name. Is this a breach of any UK law?

I think you should have removed your name from the bills when you left UK but I think unless you use them for any immigration purposes more likely you won't be punished. Generally the service providers has no care about the name as they just need bills cleared.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
