Handling Documents- a bit urgent

Post by User365 » Sun Jul 23, 2017 6:20 pm

Hi there!
I am an Indian citizen (applying from within India) and my spouse is a British citizen.
I have one basic yet pretty much confusing question and I ran into this situation too (after 5 solicitor confused us we chose to do this).
We decided to send all of my documents to her first (we haven't made the payment yet, so, Application form and Appendix 2 and IHS payment receipt are all we excluded). The package is in transit to UK.

There is still a bit time for us and it would be helpful if any senior member can advise me whether,

1. Am I supposed to carry all our documents to VFS and they will send those by themselves along with the VAF4A and Appendix 2 and IHS payment receipt(of course after fee paid)?

2. At this time, when she is going to have all the documents in her hand and planned to send all from there to Sheffield, do I need to send the signed application form to her? Or she can sign it for me?

3. Being cheesy, it would be best to know the exact process in India, if anyone knows and followed the same route I already have (which is giving us nightmare along with the fear of losing our original documents)

Thank you very much for your time and supporting us.

1. As I understand it the documents must be sent directly to Sheffield - VFS will not accept the documents and forward them on for you. Therefore, as many do, send the documents to your spouse to then send to Sheffield. Please see: https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/India/pdf/I ... ations.pdf

2. I would advise signing the online application form and scan the signature pages and send to your spouse to print and add to the original online application form.

3. Please see link above. Online Application Form submitted > Appointment made at VFS centre > Attend appointment > Documents sent to Sheffield

Thank you walker, it was a great help. We had been in confusion and it just couldn't be better than getting confirmation :) .
