When can I enter UK? (tier 2 work start date?)

Hi, after a 8 working day wait, I finally received my BRP card. I realised that it doesnt state when this is valid from. If my work start date on CoS is 1 September, would I be able to enter UK before that? I am hoping to enter UK on 17 August.

I hav searched this forum and I read something about 14day rule? Is this still valid?

Did you apply within the UK?

All BRPs have a start date and end date.
Char (CR001 not Casa)
