Prove your knowledge of English requirement

Post by savit » Sat Aug 05, 2017 3:42 pm

Hi,
Im came to UK as Tier1 general dependent in August 2012. My husband got British citizenship in 2016.
i am nearing the time to apply ILR this month. i was aware that my University was one of the approved ones when i looked at the list coupe of years back and i didnt had to do the english test. im now confused as i cannot see that there is option to select the university exception. My husband when applied for ILR stated that the english knowledge was proved in previous application and didnt even submitted degree certificate/letter.
our question now is to understand, what should i be doing to sucessfully appove my application? can i state my university in approved list?

Regards
Savitha

You either need to do the SELT B1 English test OR if you have a foreign degree, you will need to do UK NARIC ELA - UKVIA red route.

Either option costs the same (£150) but test is quicker.
